Andrews Logistics, formerly Andrews Transport, is hoping to add about 50 employees to its Texas and Louisiana operations.

It’s adding some community spirit to Diboll, as well.

Andrews Logistics, which acquired the local transport company in December 2013, is the major sponsor of the Project Graduation Crawfish Boil, which will be held Saturday at Old Orchard park during Opening Day of the Diboll youth baseball and softball seasons.

"Andrews Logistics has employees whose children or grandchildren attend Diboll schools," said Darron Eschle, chairman and CEO of Andrews Logistics. "So, we just wanted to support our local youth.

"I want our employees to be proud of the company they work for," he said. "Diboll is definitely a location we want to grow in."

Andrews Transport specializes in bulk liquid and hazardous materials transport and will continue, and will add Andrews Transports’ experience in petroleum and chemical products transport.

Andrews Transport was formed in 1980 and was owned by Bill and Gary Andrews. Andrews Logistics was established in 1997 and is owned by J. Darron Eschle and Brian Jarvis. The companies serve the same industries and markets and share a similar focus on safety and service.

"This acquisition increases our ability to service a great customer base we both already have in place," Eschle said. "We’re now more diversified and better able to create a stronger and more comprehensive corporate and operational structure. As a result, we’ll be one of the strongest players in the bulk liquid and dedicated contract service industry."

Andrews Transport was recognized nationally by the National Tank Truck Carriers (NTTC) for having an outstanding safety record and has received numerous awards and certificates of recognition from the states where it operates. Similarly, Andrews Logistics has consistently been praised as one of the safest tank-truck carriers in the country by the National Tank Truck Association (NTTA), and is the youngest company to ever win the Overall Top Safety Award from the NTTA.

"The Andrews family’s core values of business ethics, integrity, work ethic, safety and service are what we founded Andrews Logistics on as well, which makes our joint operation a perfect fit from a philosophical and efficiency viewpoint," said Jarvis, president and COO of Andrews Logistics.

All corporate office functions will be consolidated into Andrews Logistics’ Southlake headquarters. The acquisition expands Andrews Logistics’ terminals in Texas with the addition of facilities in Diboll, Tyler and Beaumont. Some Andrews Transport terminals will be combined with nearby Andrews Logistics facilities. This includes Andrews Transport’s Houston terminal and Andrews Logistics’ terminal in Deer Park, Texas. The Fort Worth, Texas, Andrews Transport terminal will be combined with Andrews Logistics’ Dallas location. The terminals each company operates in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
